It’s been eight years since Olly first appeared on The X Factor and he is as popular as ever, he has hosted The Xtra Factor as well as the main show and has released five albums.
Tonight saw Olly perform the first of two nights at Newcastle‘s Metro Radio Arena to his adoring Geordie fans. The Arena was packed with fans of all ages decked out in his merchandise from the foyer.
Olly mainly performed tracks from his latest album ‘24hrs‘ which included ‘You Don’t Know Love‘, ‘Grow Up‘, ‘Unpredictable‘, ‘Deeper‘, ‘Years & Years‘, ‘Read My Mind‘, ‘24hrs‘ and ‘Flaws‘. It wouldn’t be a true Olly Murs show without some of his huge hits which also included ‘Dear Darlin‘, ‘Kiss Me‘, ‘Dance With Me Tonight‘, ‘Wrapped Up‘, ‘Troublemaker‘, ‘Up‘ and ‘Heart Skips A Beat‘.
Most artist’s have a huge amount of backing dancers, fireworks as well as whatever else they can fit on the stage, however Olly didn’t need the backing dancers or the over the top fireworks at the end of every other song. Along with his live band and four backing singers, Olly owned the stage from the minute he stepped on it until the lights came down after the final song. Olly‘s vocals were on point throughout the evening even through he was flirting with the crowd and dancing along with his band. The energy from the packed out crowd was electric, singing along to every word at Olly‘s command certainly brought me goosebumps.
For anyone who has tickets for tomorrow’s show in Newcastle or for the rest of the tour, you will certainly not be disappointed. Head over to our Youtube page for some videos from this evening.
