YouTube star Conor Maynard has won MTV’s Brand New For 2012! It was revealed today that the star came top of the polls with gaining over 45% of the viewers votes in the annual search for the very best in new music. Brighton singer Conor beat off competition from Lana Del Ray, Charli XCX, King Charles and Clement Marfo & The Frontline.

MTV received over 150,000 votes in total making this year the most successful Brand New campaign ever.

Speaking of his win to MTV, Conor said:
“It’s such an amazing feeling winning MTV’s Brand New 2012. I can’t thank the fans and viewers enough for voting, and MTV for selecting me in the first place! Hope this is the first success of many to come!”

Conor is currently preparing to release his first ever single “Cant Say No” under his label home Parlophone Records.
