JESSIE J FACING A LAWSUIT
After the huge success of her track ‘Domino‘, it has been reported that Jessie J is being sued for copyright infringement. It is claimed that a track called ‘Bright Red Chords’ by a band called Loomis & the Lust was sampled on Jessie’s hit.
The lawsuit is not only aimed at Jessie J but also her record labels Universal Music Group, Universal Republic Records and Lava Records. Jessie J and her record labels have yet to comment on the lawsuit and she is reportedly working on her next studio album.
‘Domino’ was released in December 2011 and fans took it straight to the top of the charts, giving Jessie her second UK number one. The credits for the single are that it was written by Jessie J, Lukasz Gottwald, Kelly Claude, Martin Sandberg and Henry Walter. The song also peaked at number six in the UK Hot 100 charts.
Will Loomis has released a statement via his lawyer claiming “Mr Loomis never consented to the use of his song. We look forward to obtaining an appropriate remedy from the court for this clear infringement.”
